Comic art and Trump’s Nobel

17 February—Readers of the syndicated Garfield comic strip may have noticed that frequently one, two, or even all three of the panels in the daily strip—possibly more in the Sunday strip—are identical except for one or two little differences, perhaps an added paw or a text balloon, for instance. That’s because the artists who do the drawings for Garfield’s creator Jim Davis these days evidently have mastered using layers in whatever computer graphics program they use to short-cut creating the simple but effective line art. Just observing, not criticizing. It works, doesn’t it?

It’s nice of Donald F. Trump to negotiate a Ukraine-Russia peace deal with his pal Vladimir F. Putrid. It would be nicer—and only fitting—if Volodomyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine were in on it. Where the hell does Trump get off negotiating with Putrid and totally ignoring Zelenskyy—as well as the other European countries that stand to be screwed by any deal conjured up by two of the world’s scummiest scumbags for their own benefit?

We know that Trump passionately wants to wreak vengeance on Ukraine for old time’s sake and make a few billion for himself in the bargain as he drains the victimized country of her valuable natural resources. We also know that Trump can’t bully Putrid. So does he. So giving Russia what Putrid wants on Putrid’s terms and leaving Zelenskyy out in the cold—and bullying him into submission—makes perfect sense to America’s scumbag-in-chief. Let’s hope the evil Trump-Putrid game plan doesn’t work.

Trump doubtless would also like to get the Nobel Peace Prize in order to boost his ego even more than what his mindless claque insists was his landslide election victory in November and consequent mandate to screw the world did. Of course, that’s never going to happen—and not only because of the way he antagonizes Scandinavians (and all good people). His Holy Trumpland resort in Gaza isn’t going to help bring peace to the Middle East or a Nobel to Trump—or happen—either, despite corrupt Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s approval and likely cooperation.

Realistically and sadly, there will be no peace in the Middle East until the State of Israel ceases to exist and Jews get the hell out of the area. And that’s certainly not going to happen. Any time soon, anyway.

Meantime, talk about desecrating the American flag:
