6 June—It’s come to our attention yet again that the email link to the Daily Disquisition isn’t—not just may not be—getting to all Monitor readers who expect and should be getting it every day. Whatever the reason, it’s beyond our control and has never been because the link hasn’t been sent to all the subscribers, as has been our practice from the start.
But yesterday’s test mailing with the pmrosenberg@optonline.net return address wasn’t bounced back. On the other hand, we don’t know precisely how many anti-Monitor email servers simply sequestered the link. Or why.
The bottom line yet again, then, is that (even) if you don’t get a daily link in your email, you should go to LitchfieldMonitor.com because there’s been a Daily Disquisition every single day since creation and there will continue to be one until Armageddon. And The Monitor is always a good read.

So that takes us to a headline item that, following the sorry chain’s practice, isn’t even mentioned in today’s Hearst Connecticut rags: The Trump-Musk divorce. Was anybody really surprised?
The Donald Trump-Elon Musk marriage that some observers thought was made in heaven actually was doomed from the start. Here’s why:
First, the couple’s astrological signs—Trump is a gemini, Musk is a cancer—aren’t all that compatible.
Second, Elon is 25 years younger than Donald.
Third, Donald is a confirmed narcissistic autocrat and Elon is a confirmed autocratic narcissist and each must always have it his way.
Fourth, it was obvious even before the official engagement that the putative lovebirds were actually just using each other for their own self-serving, self-dealing purposes in a symbiotic marriage of convenience.
Fifth, Musk has most of his wits about him while Trump appears to be losing his. In the spirit of Joe Biden, for instance, at a press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz just yesterday, Trump was (either ignorant or) confused about D-Day and he seemed to think that Merz was a Nazi.
“That was not a pleasant day for you?” Trump asked Merz, who was born 11 years after the Normandy invasion. Trump then assured the press, “This was not a great day!”
(Merz tactfully retorted, “No, that was not a pleasant—well, but in the long run, Mr. President, this was the liberation of my country from Nazi dictatorship.”)
Fifth, the benighted segment of society that admires and certainly supports Donald Trump and maybe Elon Musk strongly disapproves of same-sex marriage.
We won’t at this time analyze or otherwise comment on the spiteful things unbefitting American presidents and non-scumbags in general that Donald is doing and saying (because they’re nothing new for him), or all the imprecations Donald and Elon are hurling at each other.
That’s just divorce talk . . .
