7 February—Meretricious Trump acolyte Marjorie Taylor Greene is calling for a probe into why her sleazy idol wasn’t informed about the red Chinese balloons that invaded United States airspace during his presidential reign.
“If it’s true the Pentagon purposely did not tell President Trump of Chinese Spy Balloons during his administration, then we had a serious breach in command during the Trump admin,” Marjorie tweeted. On Twitter. Elsewhere she cackles.
If indeed Trump and his allies and sycophants weren’t apprised of the red balloons, there must have been a good reason. One informed GOP source claims that if Gen. James Mattis, Trump’s Secretary of Defense for two years, did in fact know about the balloons, he chose not to inform the president because Trump was “too provocative and aggressive.” Good point. It’s a pretty safe bet that Mattis knew about the balloons. We know he was spot-on about Trump.
When Trump insists that no red balloons came over while he was POTUS, then, he has possible plausible deniability. This time, for real.
Still, Trump, as POTUS, was technically and legally Commander-in-Chief and one of his moles in the Department of Defense must have gleaned some scuttlebutt to pass on to his boss when he wasn’t glued to the idiot box or his smartphone. And what about all the great unwashed who must have seen and reported the huge unidentified flying objects?
Do you trust your government?
That was then. Now for now. Do you trust your government?
Evidently the red balloon that was just shot down isn’t the first to “stray” over the continental United States during Joe Biden’s reign. Did Gen. Lloyd Austin, Biden’s Secretary of Defense, know about the others? Was Joe informed? (I won’t speculate on reasons he might not have been informed.)
Presumably the three Trump-era balloons and the single Biden-era balloon were tracked from the get-go. But they weren’t shot down, even the earlier Biden-era balloon. Why? What eventually became of them? And why was the last one publicized and then shot down on Saturday? Well, when you think about it, after all the publicity it had to be destroyed.
Because your government wants you to trust it.
Saturday’s red balloon was shot down over fairly shallow water. So why hasn’t it—the debris, at any rate—been retrieved yet? Or maybe it has.
So why has red China been floating their trial balloons over our sovereign territory? No way are they civilian or gathering purely scientific data. They’re clearly spying. They knew we knew and they know we know.
Or maybe the balloons are just full of hot air or helium or argon or hydrogen, with dummy payloads, and have been sent over by the red Chinese with the express intent of provoking a reaction to their incursion to feel us out? It wouldn’t surprise me at all. They’re much better at it than we. And they never let up.
Remember that just last week the red Chinese even got Secretary Austin to broach the use of nuclear weapons if necessary to defend Taiwan against them. (But try to find anything in the press about it now that doesn’t punt to the Koreas.)
And don’t forget that the U.S. won’t even send aircraft to Ukraine . . .
