Tanks for nothing, Joe

23 January—Apologies to those Monitor readers who celebrated the lunar new year yesterday. I missed it. So let me just wish one and all Happy Year of the Rabbi.

Now to the subject at hand: heavy, state-of-the-art tanks for Ukraine. We’ve been reading that Germany is reluctant to provide its Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine because the German government doesn’t want to “antagonize” (the word is almost the same in German) Russia. Duh! Like Deutschland and NATO haven’t done anything else to antagonize crazy Putrid, however minimal it may have been and is.

Reichskanzler Olaf Scholz says Deutschland will send the tanks only if the NATO allies—notably the United States—also do. Whoops, Hitler was the Reichskanzler, Scholz is the Bundeskanzler. Scholz’s defense minister insists Deutschland isn’t afraid of anything, but is simply waiting for the U.S. to move its ass. Do Scholz and Biden and whomever have a deal under the table to not supply tanks and other heavy matériel that Ukraine needs?

Poland has been ready, willing, and able to send tanks. But they’re German Leopards and Poland is bound by a stifling agreement with Hühnerscheiße Deutschland. Just this morning, though, we learn that since Poland has announced its determination to send the tanks even without Germany’s permission, Germany has now given its permission—or, at any rate, will not object. Fantastic!

And British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has promised to send Challenger 2 tanks and other artillery to Ukraine. Fabulous!

When will the Leopards and Challengers actually arrive in Ukraine?

Meanwhile, the inept—make that incompetent—Biden administration is, as usual, speaking loudly but carrying a teeny-weeny stick. It’s embarrassing, to say the least. I like to think or at least imagine that another administration would come to Ukraine’s aid more assertively.

Abrams M1A2 tanks would without any doubt go a long way to helping Ukraine forces defend their country and show Putrid what for, much farther than any of the matériel the U.S. is offering and supplying. (But not as far as other measures, which I won’t go into just now.)

Putrid is a madman and already has gone too far. It’s imperative that he be stopped before he does Hitler one better. His latest ukase is that the all the tank talk is an indication of “nervousness on the allies’ part,” as the translation puts it. In reality, however, Putrid’s bold front is an indication of nervousness on his part. But it appears to scare the Biden brigade.

Back in the U.S.A., then, using the totally lame—make that clearly bullshit—excuse that the Abrams tanks are too difficult for the Ukrainians to learn and maintain, American defense assholes—including but not limited to Defense Secretary Gen. Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs chairman Gen. Mark Milley—spouting the hypocritical chicken-shit Biden party line, have recommended against sending American tanks over to where they’re needed. (Another lame excuse to keep Ukraine out of NATO, by the way.)

On the subject of stupid, bullshit, and assholes, when Joe Biden was asked about sending tanks to Ukraine (assuming he understood the question and knew what he was saying), he obfuscated, “Ukraine is going to get all the help they need.” “Need” to be determined, of course, by his sycophants. Like more lip service.

Incidentally, Putrid has brand new state-of-the-art Armata T-14 tanks to parade around Ukraine, but evidently his armor generals are afraid to actually use them because they’re so new and haven’t been tested in actual battles. Sounds like they could be American generals . . .
