2 April—Instead of a disquisition today, here’s the link to the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s latest idea to ameliorate the not infrequently screwed up traffic in inner-city Litchfield, a.k.a. the Borough, as presented at the Litchfield Intermediate School Tuesday night. Surprisingly (for ConnDOT), although the slick PDF presentation is excessively informative, the “Preferred Concept” solution isn’t at all bad.
ConnDOT reckons construction wouldn’t begin until 2029 or 2030 at the earliest and would cost $6.1 million in state and federal money. So count on construction beginning in 2032 or 2033 at the earliest and costing at least $10 million in state taxpayer funding with perhaps some federal bucks thrown in.
ConnDOT is taking comments until 17 April, as stated in the very last line of the PDF—or 14 April, the two-week public comment period, as stated on the web page the QR code alongside the 17 April date takes you to. So should you believe ConnDOT or ConnDOT?
