16 May—An 18-year-old white supremacist, antisemitic confirmed nut case drives 200 miles to shoot up a supermarket in a black neighborhood of Buffalo, New York, killing 10 people and wounding three others. And New York Governor Kathy Hochul wants to toughen so-called gun control measures not only in her state, but in all the neighboring states. And, given her druthers, in all the states.
That’s as if the states abutting New York—especially Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and even Vermont these days—don’t already infringe unconstitutionally on the right to keep and bear arms. And not just firearms. Happily, Pennsylvania is far more tolerant of firearms possession and use. For now.
So what else is new? Isn’t it always first and foremost the fault of the weapon or weapons, especially if they’re firearms? The anti-gun crowd simply can’t wait to pounce.
Give me a break . . .
