9 February—In my haste to post yesterday’s screed, With apologies to whores, I neglected to mention that once they get elected—give them one CGA session—Ned Lamont and his cronies will do their damnedest to raise taxes to at least as high as they had been in order to finance their irresponsible profligacy. They may not do it with the same taxes, but the aggregate is sure to be higher.
And the update is to POTUS behind bars on 1 February, picture and text. It only just occurred to me that Donald Trump, from way before his presidency, when he was merely a non-political con man, must have plans for fleeing the country in the event of his criminal conviction.
These are the countries that don’t have extradition treaties with the United States: Afghanistan, Algeria, Andorra, Angola, Armenia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brunei, Burkina Faso, Burma, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, the Central African Republic, Chad, Mainland China, Comoros, Congo (Kinshasa), Congo (Brazzaville), Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Indonesia, Iran, Ivory Coast, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kuwait, Laos, Lebanon, Libya, Macedonia, Madagascar, Maldives, Mali, Marshall Islands, Mauritania, Micronesia, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Niger, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Rwanda, Samoa, São Tomé & Príncipe, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Vatican, Vietnam, Yemen.
Switzerland won’t extradite for certain financial crimes, but Trump’s crimes transcend the mere financial.
Now, suppose Trump were to get re-elected even after being convicted of felonies in a state or three. It could happen. So he’d board his private plane (I’d say he’d jump on his private plane, but we know the orange man can’t jump) and fly to wherever. But not Ukraine. With his Secret Servants, of course.
And then he’d make history yet again as America’s first president in exile . . .
