Kamala and the UPS

3 March—The big news that hasn’t hit the presses yet is that Kamala Harris is already making plans for a job after she and Joe Biden hit the unemployment rolls after the next presidential election.

Presumably, Kamala is all read up on Section 1 of the 25th Amendment—In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President—and she’s hoping for the best or worst, depending on your point of view. I, for one, hope Joe hangs in there for reasons that go far beyond his and my advanced years. (Joe is only eight days older than I, though he looks at least a month older.)

Getting back to Kamala, then, if you were able to keep from falling asleep during the State of the Union performance the other night, you didn’t have to be a fashionista to notice that, standing behind Joe Biden while he was going on and on about spending lots and lots of money but not raising taxes, Mrs. Harris was prominently and unashamedly modeling a UPS brown uniform.

Nothing to be ashamed of, to be sure. Problem is, could Kamala be relied on to deliver the quality of service UPS used to give us; or would she be a better fit for the declining service we’ve been getting from UPS of late? Far be it from me to judge.

On the subject of Kamala Harris, this week’s Stop & Shop flyer reminds us that March is Women’s History Month. And that reminds me there’s no Men’s History Month. Really. There are more women than men in this country, so the women can’t claim the special treatment the politically correct reserve for minorities.

But the closest thing we guys get is Men’s Health Month in June. Certainly we men care about our health. Most of us, anyway. But we have at least as much history as women—and not just because we’ve written most of it. So why isn’t men’s history celebrated? And to add insult to injury, May is Women’s Health Month. So they have an unfair advantage there, too, two months to men’s one.

And, lest I be reminded that I’m a racist, I’m not going to question the lack of a White History Month when February, as we weren’t allowed to forget by Stop & Shop, among others, was Black History Month . . .

EXTRA: Send Kamala to Kyiv

3 March, 5:00pm—It’s been revealed that the White House is actively discussing sending Vice President Kamala Harris to Warsaw and Bucharest in the next few days to show America’s solidarity with Ukraine as it faces an escalating Russian invasion fomented by the megalomanic narcissist Vladimir Putrid.

Better idea: To show solidarity with Ukraine, why not send Kamala to Kyiv? She could go undercover as a UPS driver . . .
