In defense of Donald Trump. Really

20 October—Fair is fair. As an equal opportunity offender, it’s my unsworn but sacred duty to also be an equal opportunity defender when the occasion warrants. Fair is fair, after all. Thus, while I certainly hate to defend Donald Trump, the occasion warrants and fair is fair.

I’ve gone on record several times in divers media—starting in 2015, when the consummate American con man first threatened his candidacy for scumbag-in-chief and a neighbor insisted that Trump was a “fucking bigoted shithead and thug who should have been aborted” (or words to that effect)—that Donald Trump is not a bigot.

No evidence that he isn’t, to be sure. But neither is there evidence that he is a bigot. He treats everyone crudely and with equal disdain, regardless of race, creed, or walk of life. And in this country, despite the Democrats, he’s not a bigot until he’s proved to be one. Even if he cops the Fifth.

(À propos of something worth keeping in mind, though not especially relevant to Trump, since he doesn’t give a damn and isn’t really a conservative, everybody knows that a bigot is just a conservative winning an argument with a liberal. And I have a bumper sticker to prove it.)

To my defense of Trump, then, it seems that a few days ago he made a remark that’s being spun by his critics as antisemitic. The schmuck claimed that Jewish Americans weren’t supportive enough of him and his policies toward Israel, admonishing them to “get their act together.” Surprisingly, it wasn’t crude, nasty, or off-base.

But, as expected, the Dems couldn’t wait to pounce. It’s their job. The White House spokesgirl, Karine Jean-Pierre, put it this way: “Donald Trump’s comments were antisemitic, as you all know, and insulting, both to Jews and to our Israeli allies. But let’s be clear, for years now, Donald Trump has aligned with extremist and antisemitic figures.”

I hate to disappoint Karine, but what the hell is she going on about? “As you all know”? Really? While a huge chunk of Trump’s cretinous following is defiantly extremist and antisemitic, I didn’t and don’t know that Trump himself is. And his comments certainly weren’t—and never have been—insulting to Jews or Israel. But Karine is characteristically full of it anyway. It’s her job to denounce the opposition.

Did Karine and her employers seriously expect Trump to thank and praise all the millions of Jewish Americans—among others—who weren’t supportive enough of him? Of course not. But she did neglect to mention that a couple of years ago her boss of record, Old White Joe Biden, declared on a black talk show (co-hosted by a person called Charlamagne tha God—for real!), “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.” It’s her job to cover up for her boss.

Besides the blatant stupidity of Joe’s remark, his use of “ain’t” in the context is far more insulting and racist than anything I’ve ever heard Donald Trump utter.

Of course, Old White Joe was instructed to walk back his imbecilic remark. But he’s been forgiven by his base—not because of what some observers claim is his senility, mind you, but because he’s a Democrat. On the other hand, Donald Trump has never walked back a thing in his miserable life. And this is one thing there’s no reason for him to walk back anyway.

On the third hand, consider Donald Trump’s son-in-law . . .
