10 May—It’s a disgrace. And a scam. Well, that’s what Donald Trump called yesterday’s delightful civil court verdict against him anyway. And Trump certainly knows everything there is to know about being a disgrace. And a colossal scammer.
There never was any doubt that the former grifter-in-chief had his way with E. Jean Carroll—E. for Elizabeth—a generation ago. The jury’s decision in under three hours was pretty impressive and would be pretty embarrassing to a normal scumbag. On the other hand, being what many would consider a hyperactive serial sexual predator (in his prime, at any rate?), Trump might well have forgotten about his single brief encounter with E. Jean in the Bergdorff Goodman dressing room. Has that dressing room been put on the register of historic places yet?
Was Trump trolling for pussy, as he’d put it, at Bergdorff’s? Why not? He brazenly did it everywhere he went. Not that anyone cares. What may well have brought home the verdict for E. Jean Carroll was Trump’s misidentification of a picture of her as his second wife, Marla Maples.
So Trump, after losing his promised appeal, will pay E. Jean her five million and go merrily on his slippery, mendacious, bullying way.
In the meantime, poor Congressman George Santos has got himself arrested. And here I was thinking that he would have made a perfect running mate for Trump in 2024 . . .
