Chooches and Bidens

30 May—Saturday afternoon, as I was taking some six-packs of Lindy’s Homemade Italian ices for 99 cents apiece out of a Torrington Price Rite freezer, a faithful and attentive Monitor reader with a good memory, having fully digested my disquisition that morning on the Bidens and other as yet unprosecuted villains, reminded me that last year I had done a video of Joe and Hunter behind bars.

I must note here that Lindy’s Homemade Italian ices can’t really be homemade, but that’s the name of the limited liability company in Charlotte, North Carolina, that makes them. Lindy doubtless once did make what politically incorrect kids—especially Italian chooches, as their parents called them (from “ciuccio,” [plural “ciucci”] meaning “dummy” in southern Italian slang)—in New York City called wopsicles when I was growing up, which “Lucky Lindy” sold from a cart, according to the company website. But the website doesn’t tell us where Lucky Lindy did his slushy thing. In all events, they’re great, and at 99-cents promo they’re a fantastic buy.

And yesterday, in the po’ folks’ corner of the Litchfield Stop & Shop, another faithful and attentive reader reminded me of what she called the “if-only” Biden video. Neither of us found anything worth buying, even at 50 percent, for whatever reason. Usually it’s only the comestibles at 75 percent off that are even worth considering.

Back to the Bidens, then, since two perspicacious readers wanted to see the video again, here are Joe and Hunter where at the very least Hunter belongs . . .
